When people think of red-carpet moments in Cannes, their minds often go to film stars and celebrities. This summer, the spotlight shifted to doctors, researchers, and innovators shaping the future of human health.
In the Grand Salon of the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, we hosted the inaugural Longevity Docs Gala, a black-tie celebration that gathered leaders in medicine, biotechnology, and consumer health. Guests arrived in gowns and tuxedos, welcomed by the elegance of one of Europe’s most historic luxury hotels. The evening featured live music, a DJ, and a fine dining experience that matched the significance of the awards being presented.
The Purpose of the Gala
The Gala was created to honor medical pioneers with the same reverence society gives to cultural icons. Inspired by Hippocrates, the father of medicine, this event marked a new tradition of celebrating the individuals advancing longevity science, healthspan, and human performance.
Honoring Excellence in Longevity Medicine
Three awards recognized distinct contributions to the field:
-
Longevity Doctor of the Year: Dr. Darshan Shah
Founder of Next Health, Dr. Shah was recognized for scaling longevity care to a wider population. His work integrates advanced medical services into a consumer-focused model that expands access to preventive and regenerative medicine.
-
Consumer Longevity Product: Timeline by Chris Rinsch
Chris Rinsch and the team at Timeline Nutrition received this award for a supplement that has set a new standard in consumer longevity products by investing in rigorous clinical trials and peer-reviewed research.
-
Research Contribution: Dr. Dobri Kiprov & Dr. Eric Verdin
Dr. Kiprov and Dr. Verdin were honored for their pioneering work in plasmapheresis and its role in understanding biological aging. Their research is providing critical insights into cellular mechanisms that may one day redefine the way we treat aging itself.
Why Recognition Matters
Longevity medicine is still establishing itself as a recognized medical discipline. Public recognition of its leaders helps build trust, encourage collaboration, and highlight the importance of evidence-based approaches. Each award underscores progress toward making healthspan a central priority in global healthcare.
Looking Ahead
Cannes 2025 was just the beginning. These awards will grow, evolve, and continue to honor those shaping the future of health.
Because if longevity medicine is to move from the margins into the mainstream, it needs leaders willing to step forward. It needs examples the entire medical community can look to. And it needs a standard of excellence rooted in trust and science.
That’s what the Longevity Docs Awards are here to provide.
In 2025, we celebrated the first.
In the years ahead, we will celebrate the many.
